Plough Way Café

Café & Restaurant, Rotherithe, London

The Plough Way Café in Rotherithe, London is a recently established café restaurant, serving up home cooked Italian food and organic coffee to the residents of Rotherithe and Deptford.

The architecture of the building itself is contemporary and striking. The café needed their profitable space extended outside, whilst having a design that was still in-keeping with its original exterior design. The furniture was colourful and vibrant, so this space needed something that suited the cafés fun sense of style.

We delivered a markilux 1600 retractable awning, complete with weatherproof fabric woven in house with a red and yellow striped design. Not only has it created an eye-catching café frontage, but it has also enabled the Plough Way's customers to be comfortable when seated outdoors. The amazing result of this project is clear, as these stunning images highlight.

System used

markilux 1600

With 400 cm of maximum projection it is really stunning that markilux 1600 can offer a width up to 710 cm. The strong double steel-link chain and powerful arms are base for that – and for a perfectly taut cover. Famous IF product design award was also granted for the elegant aluminium front profile that closes into the awning´s coverboard – fitted with a brush for removing dirt and debris as the awning is being retracted. To avoid any gap between coverboard and front, it automatically adapts to the awning´s pitch. And of course: there are numberless possibilities to combine frame colours and fabrics.
